Re: Big question for the USA.

Unfortunately for genuine Arabs, which 99% of the Islamic world isn't, Arabs are actually hated in most countries, because of the oil monopoly and because Islamic terrorists have attacked at least 50 countries in the past 25 years.

So it is you who are hated and it is you who will take the hit for the actions of a few non-Arabs.

I seriously doubt that you are an actual Arab and that you are actually just another Mid-east mongrel.

Yep, pass.

Pass and America survives and prospers.

No pass and Americas lust for revenge will consume itself because it will have no other outlet than upon the sons and daughters of its own soil.

Killing Osama + his 500 fruit-cakes may satisfy you Uncle_Meat but I doubt its going to work for most Americans. And thats where the problem lies.

I tend to agree. This will be Bush adminstration's testing time. Wether to lash out blindly, bomb a 3rd world country and declare that justice has been done. Or start to think about US's role in the world and what can be achieved without military action.

We should rethink America's role. Right after we kill the terrorists. Then we build an even bigger military.

Re: Big question for the USA.

Not a question of forgiveness, it's a question of justice. Using innocent people as weapons to kill other innocent people proves nothing, asks for nothing. The act made today was not a statement. It was a crime of stupendous proportion. The crime must go punished. Why didn't they go after all military targets? Because all they want to do is hurt us, nothing more. You think they helped their cause? HA! They did the sowing today. They hurt their cause and planted the seeds of their own sad and sorry fate. And yes, I will bask in the comforting glow of Tomahawks arcing into the night sky.

You end up destroying yourselves.

If today American takes a brave step and tries to forgive those who've done this heinous crime it will survice and eventually prosper again.

If it cant do this and goes for revenge it will plant the seeds for its future self-destruction because that is one lust that will never be asuaged in this instance.

This is the biggest question facing the USA now - not who did this.

Isolate them.

Freeze their assets and the assets of all their citizens. Deny them the use of the money it takes to finance stuff like this. Make no mistake, this was not cheap to plan, and most of the money was in western banks.

Deny their citizens access to any civilized country. ("Syrian Passport? Sorry, no way no how.")

Make the countries who support them choose between participation in the world or a life of isolation. Their elites actually like the shopping trips to NY and London. They'll fuq their own people before they give that up.

It goes beyond kill the perpatrators. Make it clear to those that support the perpetrators that their existence in the world community is at stake.

Personally I'd legalize all the Mexican aliens and kick out everybody who holds a passport from a country who won't toe the line on terrorism.

I believe most Americans would disagree with you.

THe problem lies in people with your like opinions, who believe that turning the other cheek will somehow convince terrorists that they have done the right thing.

You really have the problem in recognizing the reality of the situation. Your Christian philosophy doesn't play here...

There is no need to forgive and I do not think that it would be possible for that matter. It would be best to remove the future threat at the source.
I think that we have been too passive with these groups and the governments involved.

Re: Big question for the USA.

You have to understand we are not talking hundreds. We are talking getting the terrorists or killing them in place.

We are sending a message to every other terrorist wanna-be in the world and also any country that harbors/protects/aids/supports them.

We don't care how many die. It ain't our problem.

That's the way wars are. Lots of people get hurt, nations are destroyed, economies are trashed.

Europe can roll-over and give up. France has made a real art of it. But Americans don't operate like that.

The worlsd may love us or hate us but they better damn well learn to leave us the fuq alone.

You are an idiot. The US can go a long way, as Israel has, in removing from the Earth the organizers of terrorism in the Arab World. When you get rid of these elements, it becomes alot harder for the enemy to engage in the more elaborate attacks such as the one in NYC. Of course, you cannot stop all suicide attacks, but you can get rid of the people that organize them.

This event will also help Israel finish the work it started in 1967.....

Re: Big question for the USA.

That's a great way of insuring that we have more terrorist attacks. You do realize that this policy of giving terrorists a pass will only encourage them, or at least not serve to discourage them, don't you? You must. Do you think if we stopped arresting people for theft that there would be more thefts? Of course. Do you also think we should have given Hitler a pass?

Pass and America invites all the world's fanatics, madmen, and murderers to do whatever they will to us.

pelican_in_flight wrote:

What do you mean, forgive him?

You think this is a one-time event?

This is just the last in a never-ending series.

We don't care if Kabul is rubble. Either they pony up the bastard or we disregard collateral damage and start eradicating the Taliban.

Countries, all countries, have to understand, sear it into their souls, that an act of war on Americans is going to seriously disrupt a lot of lives. Theirs.

You're right...this is one in a long series. Just happens that the victims are American this time. Let's remember also that people of all nationalities and ethnicities worked in these buildings. It wasn't so much an attack on the people of the US (though we are the ones who will suffer it) but rather on US economic and military organizations.

Where is the horror and the compassion when we hear about someone else's tragedy caused by an errant cruise missile, a bomb we dropped or some other nonsense? Two days ago, a well fed troll couldn't get a 1/2 reply on the continued allied bombings in Iraq, the world poverty ruled over by our economic system or the endless suffering of the Palestinians. There are many a warzone and many a tragedy effected and enacted by these organizations.

Simply...violence begets violence. I'm sure those who did this horrible thing were reacting violently to a perceived wrong by the US. Should we do the same?

I'm not saying we should totally turn the other cheek, but as a world leader and a great nation we can make progress out of this, not fall into the trap of further animosity, violence and terror.

Then again we could just "fry em" which apparently appeals to the WWF/Segal/Moron set.
